This page is focused on finding clean, local, and nutrient-dense food, mostly in line with the dietary principles of the Weston A. Price Foundation. Not all of these sources are going to be awesome, so you’ll want to vet them for yourself. This is just meant as a starting point.
Weston A. Price Foundation #
WAPF has a number of resources for finding food. I highly recommend starting your food search by looking up your nearest chapter leader and contacting them for a local food source list. Some chapters also have events.
Search realmilk.com for raw milk sources. WAPF also has a shopping guide, a mobile app, and a restaurant rating site.
FarmMatch #
See FarmMatch to order from local farms.
Other sources #
- Some regenerative farms are shipping or making neighborhood deliveries. This isn’t exactly local, unless you live nearby, but is a great option if you are having trouble finding nearby regenerative farms. Polyface is one example, which does neighborhood deliveries throuhgout Virginia, and ships across the country.
- Food for Humans – Discover regenerative and pastue-based farms and ranches in your local area
- LocalHarvest
- EatWild
- Organic Consumers Association Regenerative Farm Map
- Shire
Online Sources #
I highly recommend supporting local options as much as possible, for a number of reasons. But if there’s something you need that might be online, here are some choices.
- Polyface Farm – Local to VA, but also ships.
- Dr. Cowan’s Garden
- Azure Standard
- U.S. Wellness Meats
- Thrive Market – They have a lot of stuff, not all of it would match my standards though. They also have some eco-friendly home items. The company itself is very “mainstream” or “woke” so keep that in mind if that’s something you care about.
Restaurants #
- 12 Spoons – This is a restaurant rating app from WAPF.
- Local fats – Find restaurants cooking with good fats.
- Seed Oil Scout – An app to find what oils restaurants are using.
